Distinctive Outdoors is a new business owned and operated by Will Fowler. Mr. Fowler wanted to start an
upscale landscape business that specialized in full outdoor living spaces that included fire pits, hardscapes, patios & upscale outdoor lighting.
The company had no business name / brand at the time Splash Omnimedia was contracted.
The challenge was to conceptualize a name / brand and corresponding logo. Then to design a website, along with business cards and a direct mailer that could double as a hand out.
It all started with the branding process, a half day of consultation with the client. This process runs through a number of questions and enables the client to think through what his real mission is, the clientele that he wants to work with and why his products and services would be different from his competition.
This Q&A session enabled the Splash Omnimedia team to really drill down on a list of potential names that paralleled the company’s position within the marketplace. The initial list of names was 25 possibilities that were quickly narrowed down to the top 10. The names were checked with the secretary of state’s office to insure that these names were legally available. Possible domain names were then checked and submitted to the client along with the potential business name options. The name Distinctive Outdoors rose to the top based on the type of products and service that the client wanted to convey they represented.
The Website was designed to highlight these types of products and services in a colorful and engaging manner. The navigations are set up to be user-friendly, making it easy to find the types of products and services that each user is seeking.
The website also employs features such as Ad Rotators which highlight different products and subsequently measures the impressions and click thru rates.
The client’s business cards and direct mail collateral also carried a consistent brand. The direct mail helped the business get off the ground landing the client over $10,000 in business with only the initial 300 mailers distributed.
We continue to consult this client in way of sales, marketing and operations and are extremely pleased that this new business has already performed over $50,000 in business receivables within the first 90 days of its operations!
